About Julia
(She/Her/Hers)
Therapy is a time and space for you to work through and share your personal experiences, and to take this step of seeking help can be the most challenging but rewarding decision you will make. I wholeheartedly believe that the strong relationship we build in therapy is one of the most important aspects of the therapeutic process. I combine my clinical skills with my strong interpersonal skills to help you feel safe and secure sharing some of the most personal details of your life.
My areas of interest and expertise include trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, specific phobia, panic disorder, self-injurious behaviors, interpersonal conflict, and coping with life stressors/transitions.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. My background is focused in trauma-informed care which gives me the ability to connect any potential past experiences as contributors for issues happening in the present.
I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which can be very effective at identifying meaning and values in your life and committing to the actions necessary in order to create a fulfilling life. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help untangle the confusing and upsetting thoughts which create our realities, and I incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills building to cope with stressors and overwhelming feelings.
I believe that setting realistic and timely goals helps to achieve long-term success in therapy and in daily life.
I also want to help you grow the skill set of developing and using healthy coping skills. I have worked with a diverse clientele including adults, children, and adolescents. I bring a fun and energetic personality to all my sessions so that you can feel comfortable and safe as you explore difficult past experiences.
